Making Art from iPhone Snapshots
I'm almost finished with this set of 12x12 paintings of Claire, Ella, and their dog Jax. Ella loves superheroes and this painting captures her unique 7-year-old personality. Don't they look adorable displayed on this fireplace mantle in my studio?
All of these paintings were created from Mom Natalie's iPhone snapshots, and one of Claire's selfies. Below are the original snapshots, plus one bonus shot of that cutie Jax. You can see that I changed the background colors on two of the photos. That was done in order to make the photos look like they belong together. I still have a little work to do on Ella's hair and chin, and some more detail on Claire's hands, lips and eyebrows. Perfectionism has always been one of my downfalls.
